Project 2 - 2D Animation

View the Project 2 assignment files below.The purpose of a critique is to not only receive feedback from peers, but to gain experience applying critical evaluation to the work of others using industry vocabulary and expressing the knowledge, skills and attitudes you have developed in this course. You should be  thorough and specific  in discussing the elements of principles used in your classmates work.

With your first thread, post a defense of your work by Wednesday. With your remaining threads, review and critique at least two of your fellow classmates' work.

When critiquing a classmate's work, discuss the following:

1. Their process and deliverables.
2. How thorough are their animation techniques?
3. How well did they experiment with backgrounds?
4. Critique what you think works best and why.
5. Suggest ways that you think it could be improved.
6. Be specific and constructive in your analysis.

Week 8 Discussion

Project 2 - Preliminary Draft

Attach your Preliminary Draft of Project 2 assignment files and with your first thread, post a detailed defense of your work by Wednesday. With your remaining threads, give a detailed review and critique of at least two of your fellow classmates' work by Sunday.

Character Animation Design Brief Critique

Post your Week 4 Assignment and include a detailed defense of your work by Wednesday. With your remaining threads, give a detailed review and critique of at least two of your fellow classmates' work by Sunday.

Week 2 Discussion

Why are the Principles of Animation so important?

This week's lecture is devoted to what is certainly the main topic of the course, the principles of animation. In your first post, discuss your opinion as to the importance of the principles of animation, explaining why they are or are not important. In one of your follow up posts, pick one of the principles and describe a common physical action that showcases that principle. Use detailed descriptions of any common physical action, such as a baseball pitcher's throw or a person doing jumping jacks.

This is an introductory animation course, with the only prerequisite for this course being the introductory drawing course. We assume that you don’t have any prior knowledge of using Flash or creating animation, but it is likely that you have viewed many animations. Based on this experience, what are some of the best examples of animation you have seen? How has animation told a story or made an impact on you?
