This week's lecture is devoted to what is certainly the main topic of
the course, the principles of animation. In your first post, discuss
your opinion as to the importance of the principles of animation,
explaining why they are or are not important. In one of your follow up
posts, pick one of the principles and describe a common physical action
that showcases that principle. Use detailed descriptions of any common
physical action, such as a baseball pitcher's throw or a person doing
jumping jacks.
squash and stretch is important when your object is moving the example they gave in the book is of a frog hopping the frog has to go down to the ground(squash) to spring up and hop and also land on its feet(stretch)
ReplyDeleteanticipation is important because if the person knows what will happen next that would be boring and no need to look at any more because you know the end.
staging is important because you have to know where everything in your animation is going and it has to go along with what your story is about.
straight ahead and pose to pose is important because its the first drawing to the last drawing of a scene if you dont have that you dont have a scene let alone a animation
im still trying to understand the concept of slow in and slow out.
arcs are important because it helps your animation flow better and look more natural and real.
timing is the important because even the smallest change can alter the animation.
exaggeration is important because its like the movement of the face the expression the arch of an eyebrow.
solid drawing you have to know how to draw thats plain and simple.
appeal is important because you want to draw the viewer in and get them tpo watch and maybe spread the word on what they saw
The twelve principals are important because as Nicole said the principals give your animation a realistic feel. In my opinion I think they are vital to a good animation, most of the animation today is done in flash and they lack they feel of realism sort of speak. I think it makes things look better.
ReplyDeleteFor example: when your doing a walk cycle there is a certain amount of squash and stretch that goes into it, with out it looks like there is no real movement.
