Week 3 Discussion

Life Without Lips

Do you feel that lip-synch is *essential* to a quality animation? Should it become the status quo or just a matter of style?

  1. I feel lip-synch is essential to animators. Now-a-days every cartoon you see has lip synch included even if its on a minor scale. For bigger cinematic features I would assume that lip-synch would always be included to keep up with the competition. With companies like Pixar being so successful due to their attention to detail, I would find it hard to believe that an important detail such as lip-synch would not be a priority especially when considering todays youth and the demand for realistic digital imagery.

  2. I personally haven't began the lip sync process , regarding animation. I am busy trying to catch up with past assignments , Might I add, which I find very tedious. But with time I shall improve..

  3. It is very essential to quality animation, in today's time animation is not what it use to be there are a lot of the principals that are not being used so to make up for the lack of all the quality skills that bring animation to life I feel that lip syncing is a must.
